- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Orange zest for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Pour the orange sauce mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
- Whisk in the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with orange zest.
Notes
- Serve this dish over steamed white or brown rice for a complete meal.
- You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts if you prefer.
