Description

A refreshing homemade lemonade flavored with fresh blueberries and peaches.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Combine the blueberries, sliced peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water in a saucepan.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely and the fruit softens slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Do not boil vigorously.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the fruit mixture steep for 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the fruit mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing gently on the solids to extract the juice. Discard the solids.
  5. Add the fresh lemon juice and the remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher.
  6. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  7. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve over ice cubes.

  • For a smoother texture, you can blend the fruit mixture before straining, but straining yields a clearer drink.
