Description
A refreshing homemade lemonade flavored with fresh blueberries and peaches.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine the blueberries, sliced peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water in a saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely and the fruit softens slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Do not boil vigorously.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the fruit mixture steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain the fruit mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing gently on the solids to extract the juice. Discard the solids.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and the remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher.
- Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve over ice cubes.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, you can blend the fruit mixture before straining, but straining yields a clearer drink.
- Adjust the amount of sugar or lemon juice to match your preferred level of sweetness and tartness.
- Garnish individual glasses with a lemon slice and a few fresh blueberries.
