Description

Sweet cinnamon rolls filled with a blueberry pie mixture.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (13.2 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cinnamon roll package directions.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, granulated sugar, and cornstarch.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in lemon juice. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Unroll the cinnamon roll dough onto a clean surface.
  6. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  7. Spoon the cooled blueberry filling over the buttered dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into individual rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking pan.
  10. Bake according to package directions until golden brown.
  11. While rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the icing.
  12. Remove rolls from the oven and spread icing over the warm rolls.

Notes

  • If using frozen blueberries, do not thaw them before cooking the filling.
  • Adjust the amount of milk in the icing for your desired consistency.
