Description
Quick assembly of ground chicken filling served in crisp lettuce cups.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 cup water chestnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 8 large butter lettuce leaves
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
- Add water chestnuts and carrots. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Spoon the chicken mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf.
- Fold or wrap the lettuce around the filling and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use iceberg or romaine lettuce for a crunchier wrap.
- For extra flavor, add 1 teaspoon of sriracha to the sauce mixture.
