Description

A straightforward recipe for a baked pasta dish featuring chicken and a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, and half of the cheddar cheese. Mix until everything is coated.
  4. Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the pasta. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the mixture is bubbly.
  7. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken soup if desired.
  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder to the sauce mixture.
