Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and salt.
  3. Add water and olive oil to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions.
  6. Roll out each portion of dough very thinly, about 1/16 inch thick, into a rectangle.
  7. Cut the dough into desired cracker shapes using a knife or pizza cutter.
  8. Transfer the crackers to the prepared baking sheet. Prick each cracker a few times with a fork.
  9. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds or herbs.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
  11. Let cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
