Description
A simple recipe for making flavorful and crispy chicken drumsticks using an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, toss the drumsticks with olive oil until coated.
- In a small bowl, mix salt, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture over the drumsticks and rub to coat evenly.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
- Place the drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
- Air fry for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping the drumsticks halfway through the cooking time.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes for extra crispiness, if desired.
- Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, do not stack the chicken in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
- If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake these in an oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 35 to 40 minutes, flipping halfway.
