  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, toss the drumsticks with olive oil until coated.
  3. In a small bowl, mix salt, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the drumsticks and rub to coat evenly.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  6. Place the drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  7. Air fry for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping the drumsticks halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes for extra crispiness, if desired.
  10. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, do not stack the chicken in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake these in an oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 35 to 40 minutes, flipping halfway.
