Description
A Hasselback chicken recipe with jalapeno popper flavors, cooked in the air fryer for a crispy finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh jalapenos (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board. Make thin, parallel slices across each chicken breast, cutting about three-quarters of the way through, creating a “Hasselback” effect.
- Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture into the slits of each chicken breast.
- Top the chicken breasts with the crispy bacon bits.
- Place the stuffed chicken breasts in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 18-22 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, leave some seeds in the jalapenos.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake this in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes.
