Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine milk, heavy cream, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a slow cooker.
  2. Whisk the mixture until the chocolate chips and cocoa powder are mostly dissolved.
  3. Cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until hot and smooth. Do not boil.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract just before serving.
  5. Serve warm with your choice of toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon or a pinch of cayenne pepper with the dry ingredients.
