Description
A simple and tasty pie featuring Swiss chard.
Ingredients

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb Swiss chard, chopped
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 unbaked pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add Swiss chard and cook until wilted, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess liquid.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the cooked Swiss chard mixture.
- Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can add other vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
- For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of ricotta.
