Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Boil without stirring until caramel is amber colored.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Carefully pour in heavy cream.
  6. Stir until smooth.
  7. Stir in butter and vanilla extract.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes
