- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For extra gooeyness, slightly underbake the bars.
- You can add nuts like walnuts or pecans along with the chocolate chips.
- Store cooled bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
