- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 4 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add cabbage, carrots, green onions, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Toss to coat and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve over brown rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
- Add other vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli florets.
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
