Description
A simple, filling casserole made with ground beef and potatoes.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and onion, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Top with the remaining potato slices.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle the cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom soup if you prefer.
- For crispier edges, remove the foil for the last 20 minutes of baking.
