- New York Style: brown mustard, sauerkraut, sautéed onions
- Bacon-Wrapped: 6-12 strips of bacon
- Slaw Dog: 1 cup coleslaw, mustard
Instructions
- Prepare your chosen hot dog cooking method (grilling, pan-frying, boiling, or baking).
- Cook hot dogs according to package directions until heated through and lightly browned if desired.
- Warm hot dog buns.
- Assemble each hot dog with its specific toppings:
- Classic: Place hot dog in bun. Top with ketchup, mustard, relish, and chopped onions.
- Chili Cheese: Place hot dog in bun. Spoon warm chili over hot dog. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Chicago Style: Place hot dog in bun. Squirt yellow mustard on one side. Arrange chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, dill pickle spear, tomato slices, and sport peppers on the other side. Finish with a dash of celery salt. Do not use ketchup.
- New York Style: Place hot dog in bun. Top with brown mustard and warm sauerkraut. Add sautéed onions if desired.
- Bacon-Wrapped: Wrap each hot dog tightly with a strip of bacon. Secure with toothpicks if needed. Cook until bacon is crispy. Place in bun.
- Slaw Dog: Place hot dog in bun. Spread mustard on the hot dog. Top with coleslaw.
- Serve immediately.
