Description

A simple recipe for baked feta cheese topped with eggs, suitable for a cozy brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block feta cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Crusty bread or pita for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  2. Place the block of feta cheese in a small, oven-safe dish or skillet.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the feta.
  4. Sprinkle the black pepper and red pepper flakes, if using, over the cheese.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes until the feta softens slightly.
  6. Carefully crack the four eggs directly onto the baked feta, spacing them out.
  7. Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 8 to 12 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the yolks reach your desired doneness.
  8. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley.
  9. Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • You can add cherry tomatoes or spinach around the feta before baking for extra flavor.
  • Use whole milk feta for a creamier result.
