  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the cubed banana bread evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle raisins over the bread if you are using them.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture slowly and evenly over the banana bread cubes. Press down gently to help the bread absorb the liquid. Let it stand for 15 minutes.
