Description

A simple recipe for sweet potato mash flavored with bourbon and brown sugar.


Ingredients

  • 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Drain the sweet potatoes well. Return them to the hot pot.
  3. Add the butter, brown sugar, bourbon, cinnamon, and salt to the pot.
  4. Mash the mixture until smooth using a potato masher or an electric mixer.
  5. Heat the mash over low heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until heated through.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, use an electric mixer instead of a hand masher.
  • If you prefer less alcohol flavor, reduce the bourbon to 1 tablespoon.
