Description
Simple recipe for baked cheesecake bars topped with spiced apples and caramel sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Mix graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
- While the crust bakes, mix the softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the baked crust.
- In a separate bowl, toss the diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Scatter the apple mixture evenly over the cheesecake layer.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is mostly set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once cool, drizzle the top generously with caramel sauce before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For easier cutting, chill the bars for at least 2 hours before slicing.
- You can use store-bought caramel sauce for convenience.
