Description
A simple and comforting pasta dish featuring ground beef in a rich, creamy sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces pasta (like penne or rotini)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Heat through, but do not boil.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat everything evenly.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or ground sausage for the ground beef.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer uncovered for a few extra minutes before adding the cream.
