Description
A simple recipe for rich, creamy mushrooms flavored with garlic and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 pound cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their liquid and start to brown.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 to 3 minutes. Do not let it boil rapidly.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use fresh thyme along with the garlic.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer uncovered for a few extra minutes.
