Description

A simple recipe for bowtie pasta mixed with ground beef in a rich, creamy parmesan and garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound bowtie pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the beef and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce slightly for about 3 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  7. Add the cooked and drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat all the pasta evenly.
  8. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the pasta is heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or ground chicken for the beef if desired.
  • For a thicker sauce, simmer the broth longer before adding the cream.
  • Taste the sauce before adding salt, as Parmesan cheese is naturally salty.
