A simple and delicious crockpot orange chicken recipe perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Green onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Place chicken pieces in your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken is cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Stir the cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker.
- Cook for another 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the sesame oil.
- Serve the orange chicken over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- If you don’t have rice vinegar, apple cider vinegar can be substituted.
