Simple recipe for small sandwiches featuring turkey, Havarti cheese, and cranberry sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli turkey
  • 8 ounces Havarti cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms together in one piece if possible.
  3. Layer half of the turkey slices on the bottom half of the buns. Top with half of the Havarti cheese slices.
  4. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the cheese layer.
  5. Layer the remaining turkey slices on top of the cranberry sauce, followed by the remaining Havarti cheese.
  6. Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, and onion powder.
  8. Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the assembled sliders.
  9. Sprinkle the poppy seeds over the buttered tops.
  10. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes.
  12. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden brown.
  13. Slice the sliders apart before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute Swiss cheese for Havarti if needed.
  • For extra flavor, add a thin layer of mayonnaise to the bottom bun halves before adding the turkey.
