Description
A recipe for quesadillas combining ground beef, bacon, cheese, and a maple glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 8 large flour tortillas
- Butter or cooking spray for griddle
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard to create the glaze.
- Stir half of the maple glaze mixture into the cooked ground beef.
- Place one tortilla on a clean surface. Sprinkle one-fourth of the ground beef mixture and one-fourth of the shredded cheese over one half of the tortilla.
- Sprinkle half of the crumbled bacon over the cheese and meat.
- Fold the empty half of the tortilla over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
- Brush the outside of the quesadilla lightly with butter or cooking spray.
- Cook the quesadilla in a hot, lightly oiled skillet or griddle over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and brush the top lightly with the remaining maple glaze.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make three more quesadillas.
- Slice each quesadilla into wedges before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute Monterey Jack cheese for cheddar if you prefer a milder flavor.
- Cook the bacon until crisp for the best texture.
