Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes to make the marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in the marinade, turning to coat completely.
  3. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 8 hours.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
  6. Place the steak on the hot grill. Grill for 4 to 6 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
  7. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice the steak thinly against the grain.
