Description

Simple recipe for flavorful turkey stuffing formed into easy-to-serve balls.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery; cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add ground turkey to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Transfer the turkey mixture to a large bowl.
  4. Add breadcrumbs, chicken broth, parsley, sage, and thyme to the bowl. Mix well until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground pork for half the turkey for richer flavor.
  • If the mixture seems too dry, add one more tablespoon of broth.
  • These balls reheat well in the oven or microwave.
