Ingredients

- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a small baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, milk, melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped nuts, if using.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the oatmeal is set and the top is lightly golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings like fresh fruit, yogurt, or a drizzle of honey.
- For a sweeter oatmeal, you can add a tablespoon of maple syrup to the wet ingredients.
