- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 scotch bonnet pepper, finely minced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced scotch bonnet pepper, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Stir in the dried thyme and allspice.
- Remove from heat and stir in the fresh lime juice.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of scotch bonnet pepper to control the spice level.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
