Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the Christmas sprinkles.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can add a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and a little milk for extra sweetness.
- Use gel food coloring-based sprinkles for colors that do not bleed into the batter.
