- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2–3 medium)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
- Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer maple flavor, you can add an extra tablespoon of maple syrup.
- Ensure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and texture.
- You can substitute milk chocolate chips for semi-sweet if preferred.
