  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 packet (1.25 ounces) dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the browned beef, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, dry onion soup mix, and water. Stir well.
  4. Stir in the uncooked rice.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 50 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil. Sprinkle the Swiss cheese evenly over the top. Drizzle with melted butter.
  9. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let the casserole stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of celery soup if preferred.
