- 4 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, toss the sliced pears with maple syrup and lemon juice. Spread the pears in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Cut in the cold butter using your fingers or a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the pears on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are tender.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- You can use apples instead of pears for a similar result.
- For extra crunch, add 1/4 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping mixture.
