Tender chicken in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce, made easy in your slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 1.5 kg boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece ginger, grated
- 1 (400g) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Place the chicken pieces in the slow cooker.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, crushed tomatoes, yogurt, heavy cream, and butter to the slow cooker.
- Stir in the garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Stir well before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add more cayenne pepper.
- You can use chicken breasts instead of thighs, but they may dry out if overcooked.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
