Easy to make, tender, and slightly sweet dinner rolls perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup warm milk (105-115°F)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- For the Honey Butter Topping:
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in the salt, beaten eggs, and melted butter.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.
- Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the honey butter topping by mixing the softened butter and honey.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush the warm honey butter mixture over the tops.
Notes
- Ensure your milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
- You can add a pinch of cinnamon to the honey butter for extra flavor.
- These rolls are best served warm.
