Description

Easy to make, tender, and slightly sweet dinner rolls perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk (105-115°F)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • For the Honey Butter Topping:
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in the salt, beaten eggs, and melted butter.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.
  7. Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. While the rolls are baking, prepare the honey butter topping by mixing the softened butter and honey.
  11. Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush the warm honey butter mixture over the tops.

Notes

  • Ensure your milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • You can add a pinch of cinnamon to the honey butter for extra flavor.
  • These rolls are best served warm.
