A quick recipe for spicy butter-flavored chickpeas.

- 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Heat the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
- Add the drained chickpeas to the skillet.
- Stir in the cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring often.
- Pour in the water. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Serve hot.

- Adjust cayenne pepper amount for desired heat level.
- Serve over rice or with flatbread.
