Description
A layered dessert perfect for Halloween gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large container (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- Orange food coloring (optional)
- Black food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Chill for 15 minutes.
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this mixture over the chilled crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. If desired, add a drop of orange food coloring. Spread pudding layer over the cream cheese layer.
- Spread half of the thawed whipped topping evenly over the pudding layer.
- If you want a spooky design, mix a few drops of black food coloring into the remaining whipped topping and gently swirl it on top of the dessert.
- Chill for at least 4 hours, or until firm, before serving.
Notes
- You can use chocolate wafer crumbs instead of graham crackers for a different base flavor.
- For a richer color, use more food coloring sparingly.
- This dessert tastes best when served cold.
