Description

A classic Philly cheese steak sandwich recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through.
  4. Divide the steak and vegetable mixture evenly among the hoagie rolls.
  5. Top each sandwich with slices of provolone cheese.
  6. Place the sandwiches under a broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the steak mixture.
  • If you don’t have provolone cheese, you can use mozzarella or Swiss cheese.
