Ingredients

- 2 cups unsweetened plant milk (soy or almond recommended)
- 1/2 cup full-fat coconut cream (from the top of a chilled can)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine the plant milk and coconut cream in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the coconut cream melts into the milk. Do not boil.
- Whisk in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Continue heating, stirring frequently, until the mixture is hot, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Pour into mugs and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a thicker drink, reduce the amount of plant milk slightly.
- Top with vegan marshmallows or a dusting of extra cocoa powder before serving.
