Description

A simple and delicious vegan vanilla cake with crushed Oreos.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the plant-based milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in the white vinegar and then gently fold in the crushed Oreos.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can add vegan frosting of your choice.
  • Decorate with extra crushed Oreos if desired.
